Hong Kong + Macau Day 2

10/4/2011

Woke up to the sound of the chirping birds, the rays of sunlight shone on me giving a little warmth from the cooling breeze. The air just seem so fresh and light, when you are away from work and stress.

And here i am, in Macau!

Got myself ready and my friend CS brought me to this Angela's cafe (安琪兒咖啡店) at NewYaoHan Department Store (新八佰伴) 1st floor.

Over here at Angela's you can select your own ingredients to custom make your very own sandwich. Or you can try their famous pineapple bun with goose liver butter at affordable price!

Yes! This whole plate of sandwich is only one person's share! It's a little too much, hence we shared it.

As you can tell from the picture, they are very generous with the cheese. Whole chunk of cheddar cheese among the sandwich, making it alittle too salty.

After the filling breakfast, it's time to continue our heritage tour of Macau...

Walking along San Ma Lo (New Street) passes through many heritage buildings, which i can't remember any of them...  But i know each of them has their very own story. Even the mosaic- picture paving i stepped on has it's history.

The Central Post Office
Finally we came to the main square, Largo do Senado (澳門議事亭前地/ 噴水池).

There are quite a number of retail shops around and of course not forgetting my must buy in Macau!

Almond Pastry (雪花杏仁片)from Koi Kei (鉅記).

Walking through the small alleys, peeping into each shop houses feeling the life of the people there.

And we are nearing to The Ruins of St. Paul's (大三巴牌坊)

Was quite tired after so much walking and sight seeing. However we still have to make our way to the ferry terminal, because we are heading to The Venetian Hotel!

Along the way, i saw this old and simple stall selling 雞蛋仔 (Egg-shaped waffle)

I haven't tried any of it before, hence happily bought my first 雞蛋仔ever.

Although nothing to shout about, it still taste must better than those i've tried in SG now.

At the ferry terminal we hopped on the the free shuttle bus heading to the Venetian Hotel and The City of Dreams.

City of dreams... One stop destination for entertainment, accommodation and shopping.

My only photo of The Venetian Hotel.

Venetian Hotel also has an integration of almost every thing under one roof. Entertainment, dining, shopping, accommodation.

Time flies, after dinner at The Venetian, it's now time for me to return back to HONG KONG!

Took the shuttle bus returned to the ferry terminal... AND to my horror, it was super packed with people because it was a Sunday and i DO NOT have any ticket back!

CS and i stood in front of the ticketing counter, staring at the glass panels for any available timing and ticket. The only timing left was 3am in the morning! OH NO!!! -.-"

Finally half and hour later....

We saw there is ferry returning at 10pm! However it's a deluxe class so it cost HK$77 more than the economy one.

But at that moment, that's the only choice left.
And it's stopping at Tsim Sha Tsui area, not the one that i came from. Uh Oh!...

After bidding farewell with CS, i entered the gantry feeling super scared however, excited!

A lesson learnt, to always buy the return tickets on the arrival day. To secure yourself a seat back, especially on weekends!

So finally it was my turn to board the ferry, walked up to the given seat at level 2 of the ferry. Sat beside this very friendly and helpful HK middle aged couple. Seeing me being so blur, they started a small conversation with me. And when we alighted, they even guided me to the MTR station with them! So thankful of them. Who says HongKongers are only rude and unfriendly!

P.s Deluxe Class has leather seats and are entitled for snacks and drink. (Was excited when the HK couple told me i could choose anything from the menu! haha. Noob!)

Macau, I'll be back! =)

To be continued.... (Coming up next: Hong Kong Day 3!)
