5 days 4 nights Hong Kong + Macau Trip Part(1.1)

 My first solo overseas trip...

9/4/2011
My first flight alone...

Flying off to Hong Kong.
Excitement and happiness starts right from the moment when i am booking my flight and preparing my itineraries....

Although it was already my 2nd visit in a year, i am still so looking forward!!

Booked the flight from Jetstar Asia again. Has to be a little budget, because hotels in HK are really quite costly...

Meal on board

Budget airline = no meal provided

Hence, i ordered a chicken ham + cheese sandwich and a cup of hot chocolate. (S$8-10)
I always have this ready, it comes in really handy...

And of course, the Hong Kong city map is a must for a well planned trip.

The must have to travel around in HK.

Octopus Card (has the same function and method of using as our Ez-link card or Taipei's 悠遊卡)

It can be used to pay for MTR, Airport Express,Light rail, buses and ferries.

Easily available at any customer service centres of all MTR stations.

On the airport express

Airport Express in HK is my most preferred mode of transport from the airport to the city.

Clean, fast, convenient and price is reasonable.

In 20mins+ you can reached the city, alight at Hong Kong Station.
Walk along the link way to the MTR Central Station.

The eerie / retro staircase of my hotel

Alight at Wan Chai station...

Always must do your homework well before you go HK...
There are so many exits to one station, and it can lead you to a much longer way to your destination if you exits at the wrong one.

Finally after 15 mins of searching high and low with my heavy suitcase, i came to this flight of stairs...

…(⊙_⊙;)… ○圭~○列~怎麼醬?

Yes! It's the entrance to my hotel, no lift, no escalator, NOTHING.

Stairs, and more stairs!!  However it turns brighter the higher i climbed..

╮(﹀_﹀")╭
What to do, i chose this hotel..

One of the reason why i chose this hotel was because of it's 1960s decor theme... 超有feel 的!!

Hotel's Lobby -.-"""
Actually i won't even call it a lobby. It's too small to even called as a lobby.
It doesn't even have a place to sit, and there's just a very small wooden counter inside.
It can easily be filled up by another 2 more guests.

Anyway, upon checking in i have to climb up few more flights of stairs to come to my room.... (yes, no porter/ bellboy/ whatsoever)

Bathroom
This is the bathroom i saw once i opened my room's door.
Was quite calmed as it was not the smallest bathroom i ever saw. (Previous visit when i stayed in Casa Hotel, the bathroom was then superbly small!)

Although it was small, but it's very clean and really matches well with it's 1960s theme..

Mini beverage bar

1960s-style telephone set and utensils

My room
It's really small. However, i find it alright because it's their 'Lite room' specially designed for single occupant.

Flat screen tv anchored on the wall right infront of my bed...

So cosy to just lie in the warm quilt watching HK drama/ shows.

Balcony of my room

View of Wan Chai Street from my room

My friend CS, came to meet me from Macau!

At hotel's 'Business Centre'

Free Wifi and laptop can be used...

First meal in HK... at some random japanese restaurant in Causeway Bay...

I ordered the not-so nice seafood ramen (i think so).
The ramen was soggy and soup was blend.

The side dish:

Teriyaki chicken with salad sauce (again, i presumed)

Teriyaki chicken was very tender and the sweet & sour salad sauce matches well with the chicken!   Salty, sweet and sour all in one bite!

Dessert:

Soft serve with fruit.

Nothing special, very commonly served in most Japanese restaurant...

To be continued....
