Bangkok, Thailand. Part 2.1 What and Where to Eat?

At the Land of Smiles what you should not miss is definitely FOOD!

The following food/ restaurants/ eateries that i would be recommending are based on what i have tried in Bangkok, and i think is worth having OR what i have planned to try (based on good reviews) but did not get the chance. Of course it does not represent the majority's choice and not what all Bangkok has to offer.

1) Pratunam Famous Wanton Mee

Small eatery with indoor air conditioned sitting
Stall selling Braised Pork and pig organs
Stall selling Wanton Mee

This wanton noodle stall is very well known and highly recommended by everyone whom i know that have been there.

Sittings

Menu

Cant understand the menu? It's ok. There are simplified version in Chinese and English pasted on the pillars inside the stall. It's not that there are vast varieties to choose from though.

Soup? Dry? Mixed braised pork with pig organs? Braised pork rice?

Some of the staffs can speak good Mandarin, Hokkien and basic English. Should not have any problem placing orders.

The famous Wanton Mee

This is the highly recommended Wanton Mee that makes many coming back again and again, just for it.

The portion is really VERY small and pathetic. The appearance may seems ordinary, but the taste is definitely WOW WOW.

The juice of this simple Wanton Mee is the lard.
I don't eat lard but just having it in mixing with the noodles, makes the taste IRRESISTIBLE!

Braised pork and pig organs

Another of the eatery's famous item, Braised Pork.
You can choose between braised pork rice, plain braised pork or mixture of braised pork with pig organs.

The one i have got here is the one with mixture of braised pork and pig organs.

The pork is soft and seems to melt inside your mouth. Both pork and the organs are well braised, and not too salty.
However, I find it a little too oily.

Homemade Chrysanthemum Tea

There are a few homemade drinks for selection, the one i ordered is the Chrysanthemum Tea. I would say it's too concentrated and sweet.

3 plates of Wanton Noodle(Dry) + 1 plate braised pork w organs + 2 bottles Chrysanthemum Tea-> The bill came up to <SGD$20 (I cant remember the exact amount).
It's not very cheap for the portion served, but it's definitely worth trying.

P.s The person told us it's 70baht(บาท) per plate of Wanton Mee. (However, i don't remember seeing any 70บาท on the alien menu! hmm... What to do, i cant read Thai!)

Down the bridge, walk straight & turn right in at the 1st alley
Petchburi Soi 19
Address: Pratunam, Petchburi Soi 19
Opposite Platinum Fashion Mall, in the small alley besides Glow Pratunam Hotel.
               Open: 9.30am- 5.30pm

2) T&K Seafood

T&K is a street side eatery at Chinatown, Bangkok. Popular and well known by the locals and tourists.

Menu
The Crowd
Along the street sittings

This is the crowd at 10pm+ on a weekday. Chinatown, more lively at late nights.

They have both air- conditioned sitting and 'alfresco' dining.

Outdoor Kitchen

Got a queue number. Finally got our seats after 15mins.
Waiting...
Finally our food came...
Oyster Omelette
Steam fish
Kangkong
Grilled Prawns
Fried Rice
Big juicy prawn head

Bird Nest
Sprite
There are actually quite a lot of dishes to choose from. Whatever you feel like eating, just order!

Our bill
For the spread we ordered: 980baht ~ SGD$39
Not VERY cheap, but worth it.
A road side eating experience, which can never be felt in SG.
Very crowded, but lively& carefree.

Address: 49- 51 Phadung Dao Road, Chinatown.
Open: 4.30pm- 2am

P.s The bird nest from T&K is not so good. Heard there are many stalls selling nice bird nest desserts with cheap prices in Chinatown. Just scout around, you should be able to find!

To be continued...

Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the internet the simplest
thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while
